Master Bedroom/Ensuite Reveal...

I know it has been a long time between posts and before we handed over I told myself I was going to make sure I kept the blog up to date as we moved and settled into the new place.

But life gets in the way and things never seemed finished enough to post photos. BUT enough is enough and I decided to post anyway. I have drafted half a dozen to share over the next few weeks and this is the first...

Welcome to our large and luxurious master suite! Just the upholstered headboard, better bedside tables, and new lamps to go and its finished.

Our lovely sheer curtains with block out behind. I absolutely love them!!!!!

The sheer fabric is Maurice Kain "Aston" in "Metallic" colour. Sue from Regent Window Furnishings was the most delightful lady to deal with. More on window furnishings in a later post.

White bedlinen is Vue (Myer).
European pillowcases are "Verity" from Sheridan.
Chartreuse throw is "Ripple" from Kas,
Chartreuse cushion is Morocco Mondrian by Rapee
Black cushion was bought off eBay for about $6 including postage.

The en suite in all its glory.

Soap dispenser and cup Seattle Collection by Jayson Brundson for Myer

Just need to add something to the wall here and also some towel rails but otherwise I'm loving it sooo much!
Hope you enjoyed the piccies :)

Hitting the Shops

Last week was my final week of school holidays and during the past few weeks I have made a lot of purchases for the new house. I purchased the following

Beacon Lighting -" Yvette" 500mm Drum Pendant with gold diffuser and chrome ceiling plate. There will be two of these above the dining table

We are having a custom made recycled timber table, 2.4m x 1.2m with flush edges in English Oak Stain. The wood is salvaged from homes over 100 years old in Melbourne that are being demolished. The tables are absolutely stunning and come directly from the manufacturer - Glory Days Furniture in Epping. Because they are not retail, the prices are about 1/3 of what they are in the shops and the finish is comparable to the beautiful tables I looked at in Mark Tuckey and other designer furniture joints.

These glossy beauties will accompany the table. We are getting these from Milan Direct as per the deal I told you about last post. There is only ONE day to go on this amazing deal. Make sure you follow our specific link below to find out more.

These are replica Xavier Pauchard Tolix Stools are going to sit at the island bench. The colours looks sensational together and are perfect for our young, fun family.

I think it is safe to say with the curtain quote and landscaping quote both arriving last Thursday, Cam has put a moratorium on all spending for the time being...so there wont be anything until closer to handover.

Speaking of handover. Nothing was really done over the past few weeks and QA may happen next Monday if our SS gets his lazy butt into gear...we shall see. So much to do still and it appears that Metricon aren't that fussed about finishing our house and getting us the keys...

Hopefully, when Cam sees our SS on site on Wed morning, we will have more positive news to share, but I'm not holding my breath!

New furniture, great deal!!!

I could help but share this excellent deal Cam and I purchased last night through group purchasing mob Living Social.

It is a voucher for home wares/furniture at one of Australia's biggest online furniture stores, Milan Direct. We were looking at purchasing some replica chairs from here anyway so this was a deal too good to pass up.

Essentially it is purchasing anything from Milan Direct at 50% off.

Our voucher was $499 to buy $1050 worth of goods. For that money, we can get 12 dining chairs and a lamp.

Delivery is extra and for these 13 items is roughly $100 from NSW to Melbourne.

They have vouchers in lots of smaller amounts and you can buy as many as you want but only use one at a time.

Follow the link below to find out more! But hurry as the deal finishes in a few days.

Have a great weekend!

Emptying the piggy bank... AGAIN!

Introducing the newest member of our family...

OUR NEW STUNNING BLACK LEATHER
KING FURNITURE CONCERTO M20 PACKAGE MODULAR SOFA...
(phew, what a mouthful)

The King Furniture Concerto. You can package it however you like. We went with the M20, which is a package with memory foam seats (they are super-comfortable). Everything is interchangeable including the arms which are removable.

This is the configuration but the opposite way... Its a huge couch. This afternoon we went to the house to try visualise it in the Lounge room (remember... Cam is a visual learner! lol) Luckily all the thick ply temporary bench tops were still there so we were able to lay them our as pseudo-couches... It is a huge 3.75m wide at the back but fits nicely in the space!

It is more likely to look like this being that we chose it in Black Leather. With configuration as above.
We got one of these too... A medium sized 'BONGO' like the one she is sitting on It will be upholstered in the fabric below. I'm also going to get a glazier to make a nice glass top for it to protect it. LOVE :)
Sanderson "Dandelion Clocks"
It will look soooo awesome!

I was going to purchase some cushions from King as well in the same fabric, but couldn't bear to part with $130 a cushion (YES, that's the sale price) for cushions I could buy from Etsy for about $50 each including postage from the US!

I'm loving the retro vibe of the Dandelion clocks... Here are some more photos of it in action!

Do you love? I do...

A very happy Kirst signing off..

Filling up the piggy bank! (and then emptying it)

We got a nice surprise in our bank account last week.

Some company from the USA.. Google or something like that paid us the hefty sum of $1.02 as payment for the advertising and clicks that have taken place on our blog in the past 12 months.

I have spent the whole week wondering where I am going to spend it!

Freedom's divine new winter range, that where!

Loving these beauties...

I love the natural textures of wool and wood in these. I'd love this sort of thing in our sitting room. Cant you just imagine sitting in front of the Jetmaster on a cold Melbourne day?

Not sure if this fits with our modern look or bamboo floors, but the timber is lovely, has so much character!

I'm especially loving the pendant in the centre! Clean and contemporary  but not too industrial!

This gold side table is DIVINE! and at $129... a steal!

The new cushion range are also pretty special! Soft colours to brighten up winter! $34.95 each...
Finally I've still got my eye on this bad boy... The King Furniture Concerto 20 modular package in beautiful black leather... just waiting for the mid year sales...

Until next time (stay tuned... things are hotting up in the next few weeks... FINALLY!)

For all the Melbournites building a house, Dare Gallery is having a warehouse scratch n dent sale. One day only this Sat. They have some nice furniture every now and then so it might be worth a look ;)

I found the flyer in our local paper. I can put more details if you can't read the print on the dodgy iPhone photo.

Ps...I'm writing a post on something other than what's not going on onsite so I don't get further disheartened :(

Some design ideas...Am I obsessed???

Nothing much is happening on the new home front. Still waiting to hear back from Metricon regarding the soil tests so in the meantime I have started what I imagine will be a long obsession with design and potential furnishings for our dream home!

Here are some of the things that I like...

Plume Pendant Light Clear
Tate Desk 140x80cm White/ChromeMode 3 Door Buffet WhiteMilan Armchair Legano Grey
Tablet Ottoman Casa Onyx
So many lovely things, needs a splash of colour though wouldn't you say?
