Stairwell Love xxx

The painting of our stairwell has finally been fixed and I am really happy I asked for it to be changed back to the colour it was supposed to be (and that there was no argument on Metricon's part).

The wall is now back to the Royal Beige Half that the rest of the house is painted in.

It looks a little darker than in real life.

The sitting room with the plaster around the Jetmaster fixed and the whole feature wall painted with the second and third coats.

On my list of things to do for the rest of this week is organising curtain quotes. Wish me luck. I'd be happy to hear recommendations for custom curtains in Inner SE/E Melbourne.

    1. Agreed! Now just need to get some money to furnish it. I fear it is going to be like the forgotten child once all the landscaping and other rooms are done :) Kirst xx

  2. What do you think of the Royal Beige Half? We are thinking of going with this colour as well, or possibly quarter strength and would love to know if you're happy with the colour.

    1. Hi Jess,

I really love the Royal Beige Half. It gives a lovely contrast to the Lexicon white ceiling and white gloss skirts and architraves, dark and timber floors without being too dark on the walls. We chose it based on a combination in a Metricon display home, so it was wasy to see it in real life.

If you are in Melbourne, the display we looked at has now closed but you could ask at Studio M for them to tell you which of their displays has it on the wall. It is quite a popular colour I think.

      Go with your gut feel!

  3. Hi, we are at the fixing stage at Arthur's seat on morning ton peninsula. We have been following you blog for months. Thanks for your informative insights. Can you tell us if you had an internal clean prior to painting. We have heaps of plaster dust over everything and I wouldn't like to see the painting commence in these conditions. We are living in a motorhomes on site so can monitor everything. We are building Chelsea 37 as displayed at lyndhurst. Our blog is clydeandkaren-chelsea37.blogspot.com.au
